Donald Trump attempted to boost Republican Mike Collins’ flailing Senate candidacy with a rally in Georgia on Friday. Apparently, Trump thinks that looking good is the main qualification for voters. And while we know that loyalty is Trump’s number one and probably only real qualification, his slobbering over other men’s looks seemed more than a little homoerotic
“I don’t think [Democratic Sen. Jon] Ossoff is a good-looking man. I actually think Mike Collins is a good-looking man. He’s all man,” Newsweek caught Trump saying. “If I’m casting a movie for a senator, I like the white hair, I like the big strong build. Big strong guy, that’s what I want.”
“Trump repeatedly returned to the subject of men’s appearances throughout his remarks,” Newsweek noted. That included his comment that Georgia’s Republican gubernatorial candidate, Rick Jackson, “ is a very handsome, distinguished, beautiful-looking guy.”
Ossoff, on the other hand, “looks like Pee-wee [Herman],” Trump said.
Of course, Trump could not resist inserting himself into the picture. Oddly, he did it by comparing makeup. “Jon Ossof has spent more money on makeup,” Trump said accusingly, “and, by the way, I wear very little, and I do it myself.”
