CNN’s Manu Raju told Rep. Drunken Van Orden about Trump’s low polling numbers and asked him whether Trump was pulling DVO down with him. DVO’s answer was disappointing but not surprising:
RAJU: I, I do wanna ask you though about a, a new CNN poll out this week that found only 33% of Americans do approve of how Trump is handling his job as president. Uh, is he a drag in your district?
DVO: President Trump won this district three times in a row. President Trump is responsible for closing the border and, uh, deporting millions of criminal i- illegal aliens.
RAJU: So are you fully embr- are you fully embracing him?
DVO: There’s over 22,000 families… Manu, Manu, there’s over 22,000 families this year that will not have to attend a funeral because their loved one didn’t die of a fentanyl overdose. That’s a direct result of President Trump.
Um, and yes, I am fully supportive of President Trump, and if that’s not popular, you know, that’s just the way it is.
DVO then doubled down by saying that he would welcome Trump back to his district and encouraged the entire administration to come to his district. This is despite the fact that ten different members of the Trump crime syndicate, including Big Daddy himself, have come to his district in a futile effort to save DVO’s sorry ass. Not only that, dark money groups, including former President Elmo’s super PAC, have been pouring money into the district for fliers, radio ads, and TV ads.
