CNN’s Jake Tapper with the worst framing of the day with this ridiculous question for Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.
Beshear has a new book coming out, and here’s some of the description from the publisher:
In Go and Do Likewise, Beshear will share what his own faith has meant to him, how it has informed his family and his public life—and serves as a rebuke to how faith has been hijacked, profaned, misused, and corrupted by Donald Trump and other public figures. By regrounding faith in compassion and kindness, we can start to heal as a country.
Tapper used the book’s subtitle as an excuse to ask Beshear if he was “willing to offer forgiveness, mercy, compassion to Trump and Vance.” Beshear’s response was good, but what a stupid question.

And over the past couple of years, you have said that you would consider running for president if you believed you could heal the country. In the Christian faith, as I don’t need to tell you, healing includes reconciliation, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, love for one’s enemy.
