Ivanka Trump has this pesky little habit of forgetting that her dear ole dad is a raging asshole.
The heartbreaking news broke earlier this week that country music icon Dolly Parton had passed away at 80 years old, following a very brief battle with cancer.
Tributes to Parton, who quite literally clawed her way out of destitution and severe poverty only to spend her life giving her money away to those who needed it more than she did, absolutely flooded the internet.
Among those tributes was one from Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, that earned her one hell of a lashing from commenters who took the opportunity to point out that Dolly Parton stood for everything her father does not.
Ivanka praised Parton as a “peerless singer, incredible songwriter, gifted comic actress, tireless philanthropist, accomplished businesswoman and true original.”
She said that while she never met Dolly, she “adored and admired” her “greatly.”
But that wasn’t the part that really got people’s goat.
In her tribute, the first daughter cited a particular quote from the country music legend: “I don’t criticize and condemn; I love and accept.”
Ivanka noted that she first cited that piece of wisdom from Dolly when she appeared on Lex Fridman’s podcast back in 2024, and it has “resonated within me since I first heard it.”
