Energy Secretary Chris Wright admitted to ABC News that the Iran war is not going well, agreements may not happen, and any deal between the two nations may have to wait until the next administration.
Wright said this with a straight face with two years left in Trump’s administration. He is signaling that Trump’s strategy is to bomb, bomb, bomb Iran and little else.
RADDATZ: Okay, it’s been more than six months of paying higher prices. And there is also no sign of a nuclear agreement. You talk about that, President Trump talks about that.
But where’s the sign that they’re going to have a nuclear agreement?
WRIGHT: There may not be a nuclear agreement. It may be simply destroying their capabilities to do it.
An agreement may await a next administration in Iran. We simply don’t know that. But I think what the president was communicating there is how critically important this is.
The country hates the Iran war and knows the pretext for the attack based on their nuclear capabilities was ginned up so Trump didn’t look like a stooge to Bibi Netanyahu’s demands.
Wright is a terrible spokesperson on every level, but he unwittingly admitted some truths about Trump.
No matter how many times the hair-brained Trump claims it’s not a war, we know he believes differently behind closed doors.
His attempts at controlling Hormuz have failed.
His attacks have failed to bring Iran to their knees.
