The Atlanta Braves announced Tuesday that they have selected the contract of right-hander Blake Burkhalter and infielder Kyle Farmer. In addition, fellow right-hander Robert Suarez was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

25-year-old Burkhalter made his MLB debut Tuesday evening during a 9-5 loss to the Washington Nationals. He entered in the bottom of the sixth and tossed one inning. He allowed one run on one hit. He struck out one and surrendered a base on balls.
It was a brief first outing for Burkhalter, who will look to turn the page and make his mark on the Atlanta pitching staff.
