Ahead of tonight’s game against the San Diego Padres, the Braves have reinstated OF Mike Yastrzemski from the injured list. Prior to hitting the IL for some left forearm soreness, Yaz had been stringing together a warmer month at the plate. He’d slashed .286/.400/.571 in 10 games in July, including a grand slam in the Pirates series finale on July 9.

He’s likely to be back in the lineup and patrolling the outfield tonight versus the San Diego righty Walker Buehler.
In a corresponding move, the Kyle Farmer era ends with his release. He appeared in 12 games with the Braves this season. There may be a Carrasco-esque cycle in his future if he likes being our third catcher. Time and transactions will tell.
